Broccoli is healthy, make one of these recipes for supper this evening

Broccoli is maybe one of the most adaptable vegetables available. Listen up: you can roast, steam, combine into creamy soups, or even serve the thick stalks and green, tree-like florets raw! (You won't be sorry if you try it on your next crudité dish with a herb dip.) Broccoli can be eaten on its own in a broccoli casserole or your favourite pasta meal, but it also makes a great vegetable side dish for chicken, steak, or fish.

Nor does this indicate that your family won't eat it because it's green! "My boy Bryce loves broccoli with cheese sauce so much that there have been times I've actually feared he would turn into broccoli with cheese sauce," laughs Ree Drummond, recalling the days when her kids were younger and broccoli was the menu item for nightly dinner.

Broccoli is not only incredibly tasty, but it is also healthful. Eating more vegetables is one of the keys to keeping your body happy and healthy, as Ree found out when she was working on her health this year. Broccoli is a vegetable that is relatively high in protein and also a great source of minerals including folate, vitamin C, and vitamin A.

1) Broccoli Cheese Soup in a Slow Cooker

In the back of your freezer, is there a bag of frozen broccoli? Use it to good effect in this fuss-free, simple, cheesy soup. Remember to serve it with saltine crackers or, if you like, in a bread bowl.

2) Broccoli and Sheet Pan Gnocchi

We adore making dinners on a sheet pan, especially when they include fluffy, soft gnocchi and a rainbow of colourful vegetables like broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, and onions. The recipe comes together with gooey mozzarella and fresh basil!

3) A salad of broccoli

There are so many delicious mix-ins that your guests and family will enjoy with this potluck favourite. Crispy bacon, shredded cheese, smokey almonds, and sweet dried cranberries are all present. And a creamy, zesty dressing on top of it all!

4) Broccoli that has been roasted

Simple roasted veggies are the best sometimes! Olive oil, salt, pepper, grated Parmesan cheese, and a squeeze of lemon juice are used to season this one. Our favourite part, though, are the crunchy edges.
